This past week we have been learning about Nancy Wake. We had to read a book about her and what she has done to be so inspirational to many. After that we had to write a biography ( the course of a person’s life ) about her explaining when she was born, what she did after the war and etc.
Here is my biography about her
Introduction –
Nancy Wake was a journalist and nurse who joined the French Resistance during World War II. She was a hero, she learnt how to use secret codes through radios, learnt how to shoot guns, learnt survival skills and earned multiple medals.
Beginning ( Before War ) –
Nancy Wakes story begins on 30th of August 1912, and lived in New Zealand Wellington, her mother being Ella Rosieur Wake and her dad being Charles Augustus Wake. When she was two her family left New Zealand to go to Australia Sydney in 1914 and in 1930 she ran away to Europe and in 1940 she joined the French Resistance to help many people.
Middle ( During War ) –
She started to be the number one target to get for the Nazis, but every time they end up losing her. So they called her the White Mouse since she always escapes. Nancy Wake also got a husband, Henri Fiocca but he ended up getting executed by the Nazis for not telling information about her.
